I’ll start with the layout. YES!!(picture a fist pump here) I have finally not only done a layout for Challenge Me Happy but I have actually remembered to upload it to my blog…high 5 to me!
so this fortnights challenge was a BOM with the title “When I Grow Up” and here is mine…and before you ask, yes that is me as a sweet wee 4 year old and yes I really am that old lol.
I am so proud of this layout, it sort of grew from the back ground which started life with a Fancy Pants Vintage Valentine pp which I stamped first with a Prima brick wall stamp and Tim Holtz distress ink then a butterfly stamp (which I think is Autumn Leaves but don’t quote me on that) then I added a doily, stamped, distressed and cut a polaroid stamp (from Imaginase I think but again don’t quote me, I never keep my stamps in their packages, they all go into folders) then layered it with my photo and stuck them both on a Tim Holtz memo pin. then inked and embossed a lazercut chipboard scroll which was sent to me by the lovely Annelie, thanks again Annelie. then I added some mulberry flowers I brought off Trademe some flatback pearls and a little bling. stamped, embossed and cut another butterfly, added some washi tape (no layout is complete without it these days lol) and a thickers title and Jenni Bowlin alpha stickers for the sub title. Finally I added a thin chipboard doily from Kaisercraft Madam Boutique collection which i layered with a chipboard girl covered with washi tape and another flower. oh and i forgot to mention the banner type bits where put through the cuttlebug with a cameo folder. so I think that’s it. I think it came out great.
Now I have some goodies to share. I have a new favourite place to shop online (apart of course from Trademe which is always my favourite) this is a little online store in Australia called D’lish Scraps and it is delish too. I got my second order yesterday less than a week after I ordered it and the postage is no more than what you would pay if you were using a New Zealand site. this little site has a lot of yummy goodies that are not easy to get in this part of the world and it is well worth a visit. and not over the top expensive either. This is my latest order, not a big one but some yummmy goodies.
I got 3 rolls of washi tape for $2 au each. 2 packets of black butterflies (5 per pack) for 50 cents each au. polka dot bottle tops $1 for 5. pretty pink mulberry flowers $1.40 for 6 and best of all the shabby chic trims which at 35 cents a bloom. I got 4 of each to make some hair clips for Katie ( i brought the hairclips from there to, for 25 cents each.
D’lish Scraps is well worth a visit. they even give you a little thank you gift, last time it was one of the black polymer butterflies this time it is a wee polymer heart.
another wee thing I brought is these wee rhinestone ribbon slide hearts which I got off EBay from Hong Kong which I expected would be plastic but they are actually metal and really quality considering I only paid about $4 for them and that was with free postage. first time I have brought of EBay but wont be the last with bargains like that.
anyways Ladies and Gents I am off to do a little creating. thanks for checking in with me, its always nice to see your smiling face lol.
hugz
