a little help?

this is the layout I decided wasn’t good enough to enter into the challenge on Sketchbook. The one I finished this afternoon came out better.

this one I just feel is lacking something but I cant put my finger on what it is. Any ideas? I think I should have used PP instead of the scalloped cardstock. it would have given it more texture and interest. I cut the unicorn from some Bam Pop pp and the swirls come from some Urban Lily PP that’s been in my stash for ages. I cut the butterflies using the cuttlebug and felt. Katie helped me cover the frame with buttons (I think you can call it help, more buttons ended up on the floor than on the frame lol) and I mixed some normal buttons with some Love Elsie chipboard buttons down the bottom between the American Craft velvet rik rak I got at Spotlight a few weeks ago. I added some fine lines of glitter to the unicorn and swirls just to make them shimmer. the lettering is Thickers and finally I inked the edges of the scalloped CS and mounted the lot onto a plain blue piece of CS. A lot of work went into this layout, Steve even helped by cutting out the swirls for me. And yet I still feel something is missing. I would really appreciate some feedback from a few experts out there.

I like all that handcutting. To be honest I do not know what I could suggest. But possibly you could have done some layering of pattern paper on the scallop cardstock. But it’s probably to do that as you have stuck it all down.
