groovy chick

groovy chick, originally uploaded by gypsykate.

a layout inspired by Katie’s outfit yesterday. its that point in winter when she seems to wear the same clothes over and over so yesterday ,when it was cold, we mixed it up a bit with shortalls over funky tights and a bright pink top and threw her poncho that mum knitted her over the top….she looked so funky and cute.
i finally used the very cool bling bloosoms and bling bazzill i got from Brenda at SCRAPBOX a few weeks ago. and i tell you the photo doesnt do them justice, they are so vibrant and pretty and they feel velvety. added to them are a couple of urban lily coasters and a mix of heidi swapp and maya road chipboard letters which i painted bright pink and then edged them with purple and dots of glittery blue. then i got the very very funky patterned felt i picked up at spotlight and cut out the printed butterflies to give the layout even more texture. i love textured layouts. it still needed finishing so of course i fell back on doodling again. i cant decided if it still needs a little something or not….will keep studying it. its been a fun layout to do, i felt the need for bright colours as i often do in winter.

Scrapbox is my new favourite e-store…mainly because Brenda not only has some lovely stuff but she lives about 3 mintues drive from me…how handy it that? a little to handy lol…

oh and an update on the cricut stituation, the first order of Cricut Expressions were sold out before they even arrived in the country so now I have to wait until the next shipment arrives on August 9th….daymn it!!!! i hate waiting! but it will be worth the wait. lest it better be lol

What a great layout, Vicky! I love the colours, the bling blossoms, the butterflies (awesome idea!!) and what you did with the chipboard letters!! FAB!
Scrapbox is great, I order from them sometimes too – but have to say it would be VERY bad if I lived 3 min away, I would be there all the time! 🙂
