Sassafrass ROCKS!
Guess what!!! I won the felties that I love so much from Sassafrass Lass, how cool is that? Feeling so lucky about now
after the weekend we have had its nice to have some good happen. We have been struck by dreaded lurgy!!! thanks to Katie, she must have brought it home from preschool, she came down with it on Wednesday afternoon, she was fine in the morning then all of a sudden she was complaining of a sore tummy and then vomiting, in the food court at Richmond Mall of all places. Poor wee girl. Of course something like that spreads like wild fire, so we all ended up with it in some form or another.
Mum and Dad went away on Thursday to see friends in the Sounds and took it with them lol…Mum had it and now Dad has got it but Katie has had it the worst and is still recovering, it really knocked her around. She is still pale and tired, poor wee girl. She has a hard winter this year health wise. Oh well spring isnt far away. then it will be spring cold time lol. Just cant win can we?
well I can lol….I won felties…YAY ME….still excited about that.
through all the illness over the weekend I did manage to get one layout completed, for the multi photo comp at Scrappin Patch it was due on the 31st so I had to get it completed since it was half done anyway and I hate leaving things half done. it was very simple but effective I think, not sure….you tell me
well that’s my news….I can hear Katie arguing with her Grandad, their favourite hobby, so they both must be feeling more like themselves lol. And I better go help Mum with dinner.
oh before I go, I am starting to do my planning for our Aussie trip and want tips for travelling with preschoolers, Katie will turn 4 while we are there so I need ideas. Has anyone been to NSW with their preschooler? what did they do to keep them busy while travelling, what sort of activities did they enjoy….you know…anything that worked for you while travelling either by plane or car as we will be doing a bit of both. Any helpful websites would be appreciated too. If there is one thing I do know about travelling with small fries, planning is essential.
have a happy new week everyone

Another one over
Scrappin Patch Stars in their Eyes competition winners have been announced. No it wasn’t me lol, never thought it would be but congrads to these very talented ladies. the winners are
1st place – Liz (aka scrapdizzy)
2nd place – Lynne (aka*lynne*)
3rd place – Beverley (aka fifiscrapz)
I love these ladies work, they really are inspiring scrappers. The whole competition was great, I learnt a lot from a lot of very talented scrapbookers. It was well worth taking part and at least I got one placing, 3rd is better than
nothing at all lol. Here is my last layout for the competition, I just love the colours that Kelly Goree uses, so bright and funky.
I got very brave the other day and submitted two layouts to the new Scrapbook Innovations Magazine that’s due to be released sometime this month. I haven’t heard anything back yet and don’t really expect them to be excepted but its worth a shot, I can but try right? I am really just scrapping for myself these days, one can only take so much rejection and I enjoy not having to care what anyone thinks of my layouts and using what I want.
I am suppose to reducing the mountain of clean washing into neat little folded piles right now but it simply doesn’t seem to be getting any smaller. I hate folding washing, someone should invent a machine to fold washing lol. And iron and put it away, life would be so much easier
and on that silly thought, back to it. If I can finish this then maybe I can get into my scrapbook room and give it a clean, its a mess.
Enjoy the rest of your day

Caterpillars, Sims and Videos
Its Tuesday morning and ohhhh so peaceful, Mum and Dad have just taken Katie to preschool on their way to go swimming and for the first time in ages I have some real ME time! So I am curled up on the couch with a cup of tea and Norah Jones playing on channel 63 and all is good with the world.
Yesterday afternoon we discovered this little sweetie on the swan tree that Katie and Dad have been showering love and attention on for the last month.
We didnt think that the caterpillars would appear until next year but that shows how if you plant it they will come
Katie is fascinated, she loves caterpillars and knows how they turn into butterflies (thanks to the Little Einstein’s dvd she got for Christmas) but she sat watching it and couldn’t work out why it was taking so long to turn into a butterfly, it doesn’t take that long on TV lol. She must have sat there for half an hour and then kept going back until bath time to make sure it was still there and talk to it and sing it songs, she can be so sweet.
I have now got my laptop jumping, installed Sims 2 and all the expansion packs on Saturday and brought a new objects pack on Sunday. Now I have Open for Business and University as well as Glamour, Family Fun Stuff and Teen Stuff installed. I have been teaching myself how to run a business which is fun. I downloaded a couple cheat objects but they are not really much help. Its good to be challenged anyway, keeps the mind alive.
Has anyone else watched Neen’s scraproom tour ? man she is organised, makes me feel even worse about the fact that my scraproom looks like a bomb has hit it at the moment. It hasn’t had a good clean up for the last few weeks. I might have to steal a few of Neen’s ideas and get reorganised again. Its a very cool video.
I can now reveal my enter for Scrappin Patch Stars in their Eyes comp for Beates challenge, and wow I am blown away by all the talent that’s come out in this competition. I have had so much inspiration from the Stars and from all the fab layouts that have been submitted. Harmony is the name of my layout and features my beautiful new great niece of course
and now we are down to the final challenge and the star this week is Kelly Goree and I love the colours she uses…a artist after my own heart, we all know how much I love bright cheerful colours! love it love it love it!!!!
I wonder if Katie will pose for me in her pretty Christmas dress, I didn’t get any photos of her in it for some reason on Christmas Day I will have to wait until she is in a happy mood, she’s been a real jeckell and Hyde lately, one moment sweet as can be and the next head spinning scary girl. I suppose its the age, its a phase, I keep telling myself that lol.
anyway time I moved, shower, make bed, tidy up….sigh a mothers work is never done.
have a happy day all

Another one bites the dust
finished the SBO challenge for this week….I drew a blank with this one, couldn’t think of anything different. we had to make a wrapping for a present and a tag but it had to something original and attractive. what a week to lose your mojo right? but Mum to the rescue…she came up with an idea of the flax basket and showed me how to make it. then I added my own touches (with more Mum help lol) and added a couple of pressies that
Mum brought yesterday (one that’s apparently Katie’s pressie to me lol)![]()
the tag I just love, it was sort of Tim Holtz inspired I used Falala PP, grungboard key, a felt heart, a shrink plastic heart stamped with a Christmas stamp some flat and a bit of gold metallic rubon. it came out really well considering I didn’t even really have a plan going into it lol. it was a case of try it and hope it works. I did discover that if I cover the back of some felt with an adhesive sheet before I put it through the cuttlebug it cuts a lot easier than just plain felt, and it take the hassle of sticking it down too. It was pure fluke that the felt and the rubon matched so well.
all in all I am very pleased with how it turned out. and now…..its that time of day again….time to be Mum instead of rely on Mum lol…have a good night all.
