wet Sunday
The first really wet days we have had in ages. It started raining yesterday afternoon but I don’t mind the rain, it makes being inside feel cosy, especially with the fire going and the heat pump going in the passage. We only got the heat pump installed a couple of weeks ago and what a huge difference it makes, the house is at a nice constant temperature now. Its so nice getting up to a warm house.
Its be
en a pretty busy week this week. My brother, his partner and his daughter and grand daughter came over from Blenheim for 3 days. It was great but all the extra bods in the house is exhausting. Katie and Tahliyah had us all in fits of laughter with all their antics. On Thursday they got dressed up in princess dresses and spent the better part of the day dancing around being princesses and fairies. They get on so well but my brother just about drove me mad going on about how big Katie was. I ended up snapping at him I got so sick of it. Tahliyah is tiny for her age (she will be 3 in August) and Katie is big for her age but not freakishly so, she’s no bigger than your average 4/5 year old and she is almost 3 and 1/2 She’s more tall and solid than fat, there isn’t an ounce of spare fat on her.
But because Tahliyah is so small it makes Katie look even bigger and my brother went on and on about it until I pointed out that she isn’t that much bigger than a lot of the kids at her preschool, that shut him up lol. If anything is going to make her paranoid about her size as she grows up its going to be her own family making constant negative comments about it. I want to see her grow up to be confident and to do what ever she wants, not to feel like she is not good enough like I did growing up. She is beautiful and I want to make sure she knows that and believes it! She doesn’t need negativity around her.
Anyway enough moaning. Apart for that little problem it was good to see Anaru and his family and it was good to see them go home lol…The ho
use was very noise while they were here. I didn’t get any scrapbooking down, but I got some great photos of the girls playing together, they are such good friends and are so cute together. I can see them being trouble as they get older, getting up to allsorts of mischief.
anyway I have managed to start laying out the start of a layout for the Sketch Book fortnightly sketch challenge. that’s a start, haven’t picked the photo for it yet though lol….trust me to do things backwards. Might use this one , not sure yet. I have a pile of new photos to chose from, been busy with my camera this week
anyway time I got moving, lazy Sunday morning is over, the housework wont wait forever. I have to go pick up Steve from his mates place in an hour and I haven’t done a thing
I so do not feel like housework today.
have a good Sunday everyone

Yay Yellow Team
Just watched the final of Mitre 10 Dream Home and gotta say I am so wrapped that the Yellow team won. Greymouth being my home town of sorts, I spent 8 years there before moving to New Plymouth in 02 and I think Te’ana was one of my very first students when I spent a few weeks teaching a youth class when I first started tutoring way back when. I have been following them and voting for them right through with my fingers crossed. It must have been so hard for them all to wait those last few hours for the results to read out. Talk about stress.
It was funny watching the final and seeing so many people I knew, even during the series I saw a pile of people I knew. Greymouth is a very small place lol. With the blue team Dave went to school with my nephew and some of their helpers I knew, some of them I had taught at one time or another.
Anyway Congrads to both teams, most especially the Yellow Team. Way to go!!!
Now I am off for an early night, time for more painkillers, my back is killing me after running around on the sand at the playground in Tahuna with Katie this afternoon. She wore me out lol but she had a ball, except when 3 young girls told her to go away when she went to join them on the round a bout…I forgot how mean little girls can be.
night night all

Forgetful Me
I cant believe how bad my memory is getting lately. I forgot to take a photo and upload the layout I did for Sketch Books Friday night challenge. I had it done on Saturday afternoon but didn’t remember to do anything about it until Monday. And then I just realised I forgot about the Scrappin Patch Easter sale, which finished yesterday.
And its not just scrapbooking things I keep forgetting, I forgot to pick Steve up the week before last from School. I was suppose to take him to the bank to get a new ATM card and he ended up sitting at the school for almost an hour waiting for me. I didn’t remember until I was waiting for the bus and he didn’t get off. I felt so stupid!
I blame it on a combination of getting older and medication….mainly medication lol.
We had a good Easter weekend, pretty quite though with Dad being injured and me up and down like a yoyo health wise. Steve, Katie and I went to the
Mapua Easter Fair on Sunday after Katie’s first Easter egg hunt. We weren’t there long, the crowds were a bit much for Katie but she did have her first merry go round ride, it was so cute but she was a bit frightened at first, the wee girl on the horse next to her talked to her and that made her a lot happier. And of course we had hotdogs lol….I brought her a blow up Dora doll which she has been very happily playing with ever since. Steve did the normal teenage thing and acted bored the whole time we were there lol, though he did take Katie on the bouncy castle. He is a really good big brother.
By the time we got home I was exhausted and could barely move and spent the best part of Monday on the couch watching back to back Torchwood episodes on my computer and playing Sims 2.
Was anyone else put off their Easter eggs after all the reports on the news about those wormy things found in those poor kids Easter eggs? I inspected Katie’s Easter eggs so carefully it wasn’t funny, it put me off a bit but nothing can really put me off chocolate for long lol. I only brought 3 Easter eggs at the Warehouse this year and no marshmallow ones
it was pretty gross seeing those wormy things wriggling around. I hope those poor people get decent compensation for being put off chocolate like that!!
anyway time to get moving, Steve is working today so I need to drop him off and go to the library and supermarket.
have a great day everyone

Oh Wow
I got a very exciting email today, and I nearly didn’t get it at all, it was pure serendipity that I did get it. If it wasn’t for the fact that I got fed up with using Mozilla thunderbird and decided to download Windows Live Mail which automatically detected old settings that I loaded when I first got my laptop which just happened to be my old slingshot account which I stopped using a couple of weeks ago when we went back to Xtra as our provider. Mail downloaded some old messages that happen to be sitting on slingshots server and one of them was the exciting one I was about to tell you about before I got distracted lol.
And that exciting email was from Scrapbooking Innovations, the new kiwi scrapbook mag, and they want one of the layouts I submitted for their 3rd issue!!!! OMG….I am going to be PUBLISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is soooooo exciting!!!!!! Unfortunately Mail stripped the attachment so I have no idea which one they want but I have emailed Tanya and hopefully she will let me know soon so I can get it packed and sent. I am totally blown away, after so many rejections I have finally been excepted!!!!
anyway better dash, lots to do, more later
