How could he?

How could he be so mean, how could my first born do such a nasty thing to his own mother…..my eldest, my baby turned 20 today…how could he make me feel so old like that? when it seems like only yesterday I was a terrified 20 year old holding this brand new baby boy that I had no idea what to do with. and he was such a beautiful baby, well he’s still pretty cute but then all Mums think their sons are the most handsome and most charming don’t they? This photo was taken shortly before his birthday last year. I haven’t got a recent one since he moved back to New Plymouth in April last year to be with his girlfriend Tracy and hasn’t sent me a photo since he left despite my less than subtle hints lol. I miss him, the hardest thing a mother ever has to do is let go of their kids and let them grow up. to put it in Jodi language, it sucks bites and blows lol. and now….he’s 20!!!! OMG when did that happen???? when did he become an adult and I become old???? my darling tattooed pierced freak, he has always been a little out there, a little bit different than the norm, my artist who sees the world a different way. He seems happy with Tracy and his job and his life up north but I so wish he would come home, its not going to happen….he’s a grown up now and it sucks! lol. My job is over with him….and I must have done something right because he’s a good, caring and decent man. I am one very lucky Mum.

and on that note….I need to text him to see if he is going home before he goes to the pub with his mates so I can call him. I doubt it lol……at 20 mates and parties come well before Mums, especial on this very important birthday!

A Layout

just thought I would show off a layout I did last week, no other reason than I cant show off the one I did last night for the Scrappin Patch Stars in their Eyes final and that’s the one I really want to show off because it came out just right. the one below I did just for fun and because the pile of photos I got printed ages ago seems to keep growing instead of shrinking. As soon as I saw this photo I knew what the title would be lol.

I have been inspired lately, its good to have my mojo back today I spent a few hours reorganising my clear stamps, I used the laminator I brought a few weeks ago and made up some storage sheets to keep them all stored where I can see them, my stamp collection is getting a little out of control, and I don’t use them nearly as often as I could be. Now I have put them where I can see them I might get more use out of them.

anyway Katie needs to go to bed and I don’t think I will be up to late either, I am sooo tired today.

Caterpillars, Sims and Videos

Its Tuesday morning and ohhhh so peaceful, Mum and Dad have just taken Katie to preschool on their way to go swimming and for the first time in ages I have some real ME time! So I am curled up on the couch with a cup of tea and Norah Jones playing on channel 63 and all is good with the world.

Yesterday afternoon we discovered this little sweetie on the swan tree that Katie and Dad have been showering love and attention on for the last month. We didnt think that the caterpillars would appear until next year but that shows how if you plant it they will come

Katie is fascinated, she loves caterpillars and knows how they turn into butterflies (thanks to the Little Einstein’s dvd she got for Christmas) but she sat watching it and couldn’t work out why it was taking so long to turn into a butterfly, it doesn’t take that long on TV lol. She must have sat there for half an hour and then kept going back until bath time to make sure it was still there and talk to it and sing it songs, she can be so sweet.

I have now got my laptop jumping, installed Sims 2 and all the expansion packs on Saturday and brought a new objects pack on Sunday. Now I have Open for Business and University as well as Glamour, Family Fun Stuff and Teen Stuff installed. I have been teaching myself how to run a business which is fun. I downloaded a couple cheat objects but they are not really much help. Its good to be challenged anyway, keeps the mind alive.

Has anyone else watched Neen’s scraproom tour ? man she is organised, makes me feel even worse about the fact that my scraproom looks like a bomb has hit it at the moment. It hasn’t had a good clean up for the last few weeks. I might have to steal a few of Neen’s ideas and get reorganised again. Its a very cool video.

I can now reveal my enter for Scrappin Patch Stars in their Eyes comp for Beates challenge, and wow I am blown away by all the talent that’s come out in this competition. I have had so much inspiration from the Stars and from all the fab layouts that have been submitted. Harmony is the name of my layout and features my beautiful new great niece of course and now we are down to the final challenge and the star this week is Kelly Goree and I love the colours she uses…a artist after my own heart, we all know how much I love bright cheerful colours! love it love it love it!!!!

I wonder if Katie will pose for me in her pretty Christmas dress, I didn’t get any photos of her in it for some reason on Christmas Day I will have to wait until she is in a happy mood, she’s been a real jeckell and Hyde lately, one moment sweet as can be and the next head spinning scary girl. I suppose its the age, its a phase, I keep telling myself that lol.

anyway time I moved, shower, make bed, tidy up….sigh a mothers work is never done.

Finally

I am finally back in the land of the cyber living. My new laptop arrived yesterday and I have spent the better part of last night and today setting it up and installing everything and trying to remember passwords and stuff like that. Its a bit more powerful than my old laptop and has a bigger hard drive but hasn’t got the finger print recognition which I used all the time or the short cut keys. It does have a web cam and facial recognition which I haven’t worked out yet. Katie loves the web cam, She was busy waving to herself last night and thought it was fabulous. She’s so funny.

Its so good to have my own laptop again, although I had use of Steve’s while he was at school it wasn’t the same. Now I can do what I want and save what I what. 

My entire family is driving me nuts tonight….its only because I am tired I know but it seems like everyone is extra loud and extra annoying. I had such a terrible sleep last night, took forever to get to sleep and then Katie woke at 3am and didn’t go back to sleep until after 5.30pm. and she was up again at 8am so she’s more than a little tired. She’s off to bed. very shortly after shorty st that is lol.

before I go put her to bed though I just wanted to show off the layout I did for the Scrappin Patch sketch challenge, it only took me half an hour, that’s got to be a record for me. I can show you the one I did for the Stars in Their Eyes until the big reveal.
