something to ponder
“BLESSED ARE THE CRACKED, FOR THEY ARE THE ONES WHO LET IN THE LIGHT!”
sent to me of course by my good friend Lynda, supplier of the best email jokes,
quotes and giggles available. and the caption read, “Does my bum look big in this?” lol I just love Lynda’s quirky sense of humour, she never fails to send me something funny to brighten my day. we met in a chatroom nearly 10 years ago and have been email buddies ever since, even got to meet her when I went up to Auckland with another email buddies of ours. Never underestimate the power of the email buddy…they can be a real friend in times of need!!
I have to share something today….I am sick of making Christmas cards lol…’yesterday afternoon I spent hours making cards for week 4 of the Scrapbox Christmas challenge, and if I never see another card again it will be soon lol. you know how it is, you get the idea in your head but by the time the thing is made it doesn’t look like you think and your over it! lol….though it was fun making the DS cutfile which I will share next week once Julia has done the big reveal. I am up to date with all challenges except Stars in their eyes which I haven’t even started and don’t even know if I will have time. its going to be a busy weekend
This afternoon, in fact very shortly, I have to pick up Katie from preschool, drop some whitebait to a guy in stoke, take Steve into town to get some paint for his models, take him jandal shopping (he’s just had an ingrown toenail removed and needs to make sure it gets air) then stop in at spotlight to get some sheets for Katie’s bed before doing the groceries and coming home to cook tea, Mum is sick so I need to look after her, make sure Dad is feed so she doesn’t get stressed, honestly she fusses over him far to much lol…..then tomorrow we have the Santa parade in Richmond but before that I want to go into town to the Saturday Market to hunt for some interesting Christmas pressies for my sister and Jodi’s girlfriend. Then Sunday……..hmmmm there was something…cant remember……oh well it will come to me.
it makes me tired just thinking about it! and now I am wondering who as brave enough to put the bikini on the hippo lol and on that thought….gotta fly…time for that made afternoon to start sigh…wish me luck!
Yah!
Great news….I managed to buy Katie a dolls house for Christmas off trademe for $31, what a bargain!!! and its just what I was after, she is going to love it. it needs a new hinge and a wee tidy up but I just cant wait to see her face when she unwraps it on Christmas morning, she is going to love it! she has a little plastic one at the moment that she plays with all the time but there is nothing like a good solid wooden dolls house, every little girl should have one. it was just luck that I managed to get it so cheap, the lady selling it accidently listed it for 24 hours instead of a week. how lucky for me!!
another Yah, Katie is finally in knickers full time, she doesn’t even need a night nappy any more and on Friday she had her first day at preschool in knickers and was good as gold, she has even given up her potty in favour of the big girls toilet. Even if I do have to race her to the toilet, every time I start heading in that direction she runs to beat me lol. but I am so proud of her, she is doing so well.
and yet another Yah, I sold Katie’s cot to a lovely couple from Golden Bay, they picked it up yesterday. it was a bit sad to see it go but its just another milestone passed. and the money can go toward Christmas pressies, I have got all Katie’s Christmas and Birthday pressies now so there is only a cell phone for Steve and something for Jodi, not sure what yet.
well that me, I am so tired after been up half the night with a sore neck and then an early morning visit from Miss Katie who decided to climb into bed with me at 3am. now I just want to curl in a ball and go to sleep lol. But I have things to do, I really need to put some thought into the new SBO Christmas challenge, making a Christmas decoration….I am so not good at that sort of thing, I made a centre piece for Scrapbox week 3 challenge and I hate it, it was done in a hurry and looks it. but I will come up with something….I am sure I will….hopefully lol….time to troll the net and see what I can find….hope you have all had a fantastic weekend and good luck to everyone entering challenges this week
fun fun fun
I am having so much fun with these challenges, just finished my SBO week 3 one…and after uploading I took a wee peek at the message board…and guess what….the lovely Mrs Claus picked me to get a wee treat so big big thank you Mrs Claus and the SBO team…keep those challenges coming darling ladies, they are so much fun!
I totally love the layout I did for this weeks challenge. I have to share the
journaling. I caught Steve on a study break and asked him what he wanted from Santa, after giving me the “don’t be stupid, I don’t believe in Santa” look this is what he said …..luckily I didn’t need to ask Katie….I already know what she wants…a Baby Alive Doll lol
so I finished the journaling by putting this down the bottom of the layout
, somehow it just seemed right. my highly intelligent son has plans to take over the world….should I be worried about this or should I just report him to Superman or Batman? Hmmm bit of a worry….like he hasn’t got enough stress in his life, what with his first exam tomorrow…perhaps I should just put it down to exam stress lol….nutty kid! lol
well time to put DD to bed….happy pre Christmas all lol
New family member
meet our new family member, Baloo.
the scrapbooking cat lol…well she did discover my scrapbook room before any other room lol. we adopted her on Friday at the SPCA. she’s a friendly smoochy little lady and has just made herself completely at home. though she is still a bit wary of Katie, who just wants to love her…in true toddler fashion. but she was only desexed on Friday morning so is still a bit tender and doesn’t want to be carted around but a overly loving toddler. understandably so lol. She’s a wee beauty of a cat but been a bit neglected and has just weaned a litter of kittens so is very skinny and her fur is a bit dull but we will fix that. Steve conned me into going to the SPCA on Friday afternoon to “look” at the cats. I was not overly sure I wanted a cat,but I definitely didn’t want to go through the training of another kitten. Baloo is about a year old so no training is needed and she has settled in really well, already had a good explore outside and in and seems happy. and its nice to have a cat in the house though I’m not sure what Dad’s going to say, he is most definitely not a cat person lol…to bad for him! he will just have to handle it lol.
well I seem to be on top of the challenges, I have the SBO one for this week to be done, just uploaded the Scrapbox one and uploaded the Scrappin Patch one the other day. I have decided I will stick to those 3 at the moment. I am enjoying the challenge of all three but don’t think I want to take on any more than those. out of the 3 so far the Scrapbox ones have been the most challenging. Julia is very good at making us have to really think about a layout. I have a fair idea what I am
going to do for this weeks SBO one. took me nearly all week to get to grips with how I wanted Julia’s challenge to look, I knew the photo I was using and the title but it was the pp’s I wasn’t sure on. but all in all I think it looks great. and now I can reveal last weeks one which I still love
its one of my very favourite layouts at the moment. All this scrapping is definitely filling my album. I managed to pick up another album, winnie the pooh this time, half price at Spotlight last week.
well I better go rescue poor baloo from Katie’s overwhelming affection again, hope your all having a great weekend
hugz

thinking of Christmas
did you know it was only 43 days until Christmas? scary how fast its come around this year isn’t it? I asked Steve the other day if he wanted a Christmas stocking this year, I thought he might be a bit old now and think it was childish,
he said he didn’t mind giving up his stocking so long as he still got all the lollies and other goodies that goes in it lol. I guess something’s you never really grow out of, and I have always tried to make the kids stockings as much fun as I could, filling them with lollies and silly wee toys, noise makers and poppers, its half the fun of Christmas isn’t it? those little traditions that make it special. Just like Mum always cooking enough food for a small army or Dad and the rest of the family males doing the dishes after Christmas dinner.
So speaking of traditions, I decided that would be my theme for the 2nd Scrapbox Christmas challenge. the challenge is to do a Christmas layout with non traditional colours. So i thought, a traditions layout with non traditional colours would work. So now I have two layouts on the go Scrappin Patch has kicked off the Stars in Their Eyes competition with Nic Howard handy that huh? lol, I have got my one all laid out in the top of a pizza box, the Scrapbox one is laid out in the top part of the pizza box lol, how’s that for organisation?
so once i get madam off to bed I am free to finish off one and start the next. I really am trying to keep ahead of these challenges but it might be a bit harder now Steve has finished school and Mum and Dad come home next week. With everyone around during the day I wont have as much time.
right now, time to put DD to bed and steal some scrap time.
