The room is finished. here is the finished product from the doorway. its kind of full but so much more workspace. I got the bright green and pink containers from Payless Plastics the other day but they are to big for the shelf. I wanted them to put the rub ons, stickers and alphas in but I might need to rethink them. they are so funky too.

Still havent found a permant home from all my papers yet though. Any ideas?

and i forget to tell you I have a new hobby. I have taking up jewellery making. I started off stringing beads for Katie to help with my dexterity but I went to a garage sale on Saturday and the lady had a basket of very cool glass beads and the bits to make jewellery for sale and its something I have wanted to do for ages. it only cost me $20 for 3 small boxes of glass beads (one had a price tag of $24 on it and another $19) a pair of multi purpose pliers and some other bits. So far I have made a braceletand a necklace, its a good thing to do sitting in front of tv at night but last night i learnt the hard way why not to have the stuff out why Katie was around lol…you can guess the result..she wanted to “help” lol….needless to say she was anything but helpful!

anyway that’s me for tonight…time for some codeine and bed. night night all.

busy busy

I have been so busy lately that my poor old blog is feeling neglected. sorry blog lol. Its just been one of those weeks were I havent seemed to stop.

Yesterday I had an appointment with my specialist. Good news is the Humira is doing its job really well, been improvement all round but the bad news is I may be looking at an operation on my back which has been giving me hell for the last few months. I have known for years that sooner or later I would need to get something done about it, I had a fall off a ladder years ago and cracked and displaced about 6 discs. Not fun but I had a xray yesterday and am just waiting to see what the doctor says. He thinks there maybe more displacement or it could just be an infection in my back. its all wait and see really.

and of course knowing my back is in a bad way what do i do today? strip out my scrap room and change it all around. What a difference, not finished yet but I got a folding trestle table yesterday and took the big cupboard out and cleaned out all the extra junk that seems to have snuck in. And of course impatient me couldnt wait until someone was around to help, I moved everything myself. and now I am paying for it, I hurt like nothing on earth.  So I Stopped about an hour ago and waited for Steve to get home to give me a hand. Hes such a good boy where would I be without him.

Once everything is finished I will take a few photos and post them up.

I had some news from Tanya Leigh, I cant share just yet because she wants to put it on the Stampin Scrap blog first. But I am really excited and thats all I am saying…mean huh? lol.

Dad goes into hospital tomorrow for the tests on his heart and possibly to get shints put in. I am really worried about him. we all are. he looks health enough but gets so short of breath sometimes, its scary. And I cant even go into the hospital with him and mum tomorrow, they will be there all day and Katie would create chaos so she and I will stay home by the phone.

anyway back to work now the panadol have kicked in and Steve’s here to help.

ok I am offically over winter….it can go away now…I know…its only July and we have a while left yet but its been raining for days and its cold and damp and i hate it.

Theres a nasty cold going around at the moment and Katie has it, shes been coughing and sniffling for a couple of days now, poor baby, shes been easily upset and pretty miserable but still cheeky lol, she got really upset with Dad when he left for Kaikoura yesterday which is not like her. but she was over the moon when we picked Steve up from the airport yesterday afternoon.

He’s been in Arrowtown for 10 days at my sisters. He had a great time, went snowboarding of course. And came home to his sleepout all ready for him. Mum, Dad and I have been working hard to get it ready for him, carpet on the floor, shelves on the wall and all comfy and cosy and a big surprise! he didnt know we were going to do it up for him. You should have seen his face when he went to put his bag in his old room to find that none of his stuff was there, lol he didnt know what was going on. But he’s over the moon with his new space, and has twice the space. Plenty of space for his mates to come and stay now.

I havent done any scrapbooking for a week now, I need to get my butt into gear, my scrapbook room is feeling lonely lol. I brought some more bazzill off Julia of Scrapbox yesterday, took advantage of her sale to restock, I was getting really low. And it was really cheap, 69 cents each and Julia has a huge range. And shes really handy lol…5 mintues down the road.

You should see Julias scraproom, I am so jealous lol, its lovely and big and bright and so well organised. its awesome! shes even got plenty of space for her kids to play. I am so jealous, I would love to have a nice big space but I am happy just to have a room to call my own. And once its reorganised it will be even better. I found some trestle tables at Bunnings the other day that would be better than what I planned but first I need to do a bit of measuring. At least I have cleaned the cupboard out, thats a start.

well I better get started, the fires going now and I have to get the housework done so I can get some scrapbooking done today. its perfect weather for it.

some suggestions please

I am going to rearrange my scrapbook room, its not working for me the way it is. Its only a small room and at the moment its dominated by the free standing cupboard i got last year and has become a junk magnet. So I am getting rid of that, its going into the sleepout for Steves junk and putting up another long wide shelf for the cricut, cuttlebug and printer to live. Now i have decided to move all the shelves too. the long ones will go above the new shelf to keep things like paints and my vast collection of spice jars used for keeping little embellishments (brads etc), embossing powder. basically anything that isnt to wide as they are narrow shelves, great because everything is easy to see. Then I have another 3 wider shelves that are going on the other wall, i will grab another one from Mitre 10 Mega to make 4 and they can be used for bigger things.

the problem i have is all the things like Alpha stickers and rubons and that sort of thing, the things that are basically flat but need a good home. at the moment i have them in clear files and plastic bags which is not working at all. What does everyone else use to store these things? I need a little inspiration here. I thought maybe baskets or boxes but I like to have easy access and be able to see what I have. And the other problem is that really common one, storing PP and CS. I need a new way to store that as well, easy access and something that doesnt take up to much room.

Any and all ideas greatly excepted

also I see Scrapbox  is having a sale…havent had time to go look but plan to this afternoon…we all love a good sale, and I am a bargin hunter from way back lol…go take a look.

anyway I need to get moving, I have a cupboard to tackle, watch out trademe  here comes more of my bargins lol…if you want to look to see what i list my user name is vicky12. it will take me a few days to sort everything though but i dare say there will be lots of bargins.

is it just me?

Ok need a little rant here. Is it just meor is there far to much smut on tv? I am not talking programs that are in “adult time” you know after 9.30pm, I am talking ads and plugs for programmes. The other day I was watching a movie with Steve in the afternoon, Spy Kids 2 and this ad came on advertising a bed and there was a couple all but having sex on it. Steve was so disgusted he got up and walked away. This was about 2 in the afternoon during the school holidays…And this evening there was an ad on for that How To have sex after marriage programme on during Shortland St. I was totally disgusted, it was pretty explicitand ok Katie isn’t old enough to understand but she was in the room when it was on and I really feel she doesn’t need to see that sort of thing. Steve is away in Queenstown so he wasn’t here to be very vocally disgusted but honestly what sort of message are we sending to kids having that stuff on tv at that time?  its just gross. Ok I am no prude but honestly its disgusting. there is a time and place for those sort of things and when kids could be watching is definitely not the time. Why cant it be keep for adult times? and as for that programme How to have sex after marriage…that’s taking reality TV far to far….its just ridiculous!

I have decided to write to TVNZ and TV 3 to complain. I have never done that before but I feel strongly about this, its getting to the point where kids cant be left to watch a kids movie, even Steve at 16 finds it disgusting!
